In honor of June being LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, we’re celebrating Lacy Guice, leasing specialist for Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, at our Texas properties.

When Lacy was looking for a new job after moving from South Carolina to Dallas, Texas, an open position as a leasing specialist with Draper and Kramer shared with her by a friend was, well, music to her ears. The part-time sound engineer instantly felt a connection with the team, and, nearly three years later, still feels grateful to have found a role so well suited to her. She was recently promoted to senior leasing agent and jumped at the opportunity to relocate to Pheonix, Ariz.

“I genuinely treasure the culture of Draper and Kramer, and feel appreciated and acknowledged by everyone from my co-workers to senior leadership,” said Lacy. “I also love that I feel supported and free to be myself. It’s really inclusive.”

Lacy also loves that she can bring her passion for music and creativity into her role as a leasing specialist. “I’ve created custom playlists for the properties where I’ve worked and get to develop really fun social media content, too. The residents enjoy it and I love that!”

In fact, providing the best living experience for the residents is what drives Lacy professionally. Kurstie Butcher, Assistant Vice President, Regional Property Manager of Senita on Cave Creek, where Lacy currently works, jokes there isn’t anything Lacy won’t do to ensure happy residents – even testing out the playground equipment at her property (see photo)!

“Lacy is incredibly dedicated to her residents and ensuring they have a great experience. She has a can-do attitude and always goes the extra mile to help fellow staff and residents,” said Kurstie. “She is not afraid to jump in and get any job done.”

As noted, when Lacy isn’t fulfilling her job with Draper and Kramer, she works part time as a sound engineer for bands, a passion of hers since she was 17. She loves attending concerts, too.

Equally important to Lacy is supporting fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community through organizations like The Happy Hippie Foundation, which helps rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations, and Point of Pride, a non-profit organization that helps provide gender-affirming care and addresses the need for inclusive and supportive changes in our society.
