Being the youngest of 10 siblings, Heroes Salinas learned how to connect with all kinds of personalities- a skill he uses every day as a leasing agent for Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, at the firm’s 1350-1360 Lake Shore Drive property.

“One thing that sets me apart from other leasing agents is I prefer to meet clients in the lobby or outside the building, instead of the leasing office. This allows us to connect in a more relaxed and friendly setting from the very start,” said Heroes. “I’m known for creating conversation beyond what they want in an apartment. By the time we’re done touring the property, I want people to feel like they’ve made a new personal connection, not just toured an apartment. I think this is especially important for potential residents who are new to Chicago because I remember what it felt like to be new to the city myself.”

Kelli Stuart, property manager at 1350-1360 Lake Shore Drive, agrees. “Prospects and residents alike are drawn to his warm nature, and I see residents are always happy to run into him in the halls.”

Heroes’ personable approach with clients is one of the many reasons why he received a Leasing Professional of the Year recognition in the 2024 Multi-Housing News Excellence Awards.

Kelli also noted how resourceful Heroes is. “Having worked with us during the virtual leasing portion of the pandemic, he created an extensive backstock of photos and videos of all available units he’s come across. This is invaluable at a property with so many different floorplans and finish packages.”

His career in leasing was sparked by a friend’s casual comment, “You’d make a great leasing agent,” during his time in retail sales. Since that remark 11 years ago, Heroes relocated from Texas to Chicago, bringing his retail customer service experience to new heights in the real estate industry.

“The best piece of advice I received from making the transition from retail to real estate is it’s okay not to know everything,” Heroes recalls. “Just communicate with your team and ask for help when questions arise.”

Work hard, play hard! Whether enjoying live music at a concert or exploring vibrant destinations in Mexico, Heroes brings his passion for connection and adventure to every moment.

Approaching his five-year anniversary with Draper and Kramer, Heroes shares that it’s been a rewarding experience. “Draper and Kramer has allowed me to continue my passion in helping others,” said Heroes. “I love working with the 1350-1360 team. We’re a family and we motivate each other to achieve success every day.”

Outside of helping clients find their dream apartment, Heroes loves listening to music, attending concerts and traveling to Mexico.
