“Joining Draper and Kramer’s Commercial Finance Group has been one of the most professionally rewarding decisions I have made,” says Brenda Cruz, Senior Loan Servicing Analyst for Draper and Kramer, Incorporated.

Brenda first came to work for Draper and Kramer as a Human Resources clerk while she completed her degree at Loyola University. When she graduated, an analyst position with the Commercial Finance Group (CFG) came available and Brenda says she jumped at it.

“I had always worked with such kind and compassionate people at Draper and Kramer, and wanted to grow my career with the company. While I was a clerk in the HR department, my mother became ill, and the firm gave me the flexibility to care for her. It meant a lot and showed me what type of company this is and how they care for and value their people,” she said.

Suzanne Weiss, senior vice president and servicing manager of CFG said, “When I joined Draper and Kramer two years ago, Brenda welcomed me with open arms. She willingly shares her extensive servicing knowledge and expertise with our team. I appreciate her many contributions to Loan Servicing.”

In her current role, Brenda manages a portfolio of over $805MM for various life companies, enforcing the provisions of the loans’ servicing agreements and monitoring the property assets. Additionally, Brenda provides market intelligence used for assessment by the firm’s lenders. “I love having the chance to show our clients and investors the value my team contributes,” Brenda notes.

She added, “There is the opportunity to form great relationships and grow professionally at Draper and Kramer. I’m especially grateful for having inspirational women mentors who encouraged me, including Chief Administrative Officer Christine Ramsey and Human Resources Vice President Gail Eubanks.”

In her free time, Brenda – a native of Chicago’s south side, “Go Sox!” – enjoys “being a kid again” while spending time with her 6-year-old nephew Ben and 2-year-old niece Ellie. She also enjoys attending concerts and traveling, and her newest hobby is golf.
