Hannah Fischer, assistant vice president and operations manager for Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, says the best advice she ever received was to “keep learning and stay curious.” That mindset has shaped Hannah’s career, leading her to unexpected opportunities— including a successful transition into real estate.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Hannah spent several years in Boston before moving back home to her native Chicago. While job hunting through a staffing agency, she was placed as a part-time office assistant at a multifamily high-rise Draper and Kramer owned at the time in the West Loop.
Recognizing her talent and drive, Draper and Kramer hired her full-time. Since then, she has taken on multiple roles across different departments, broadening her knowledge and making a lasting impact within the company. Her ambition eventually led her to the corporate office.

Hannah reflected on getting her start in the real estate industry 15 years ago with Draper and Kramer, saying, “I never expected my part-time temporary office job to turn into a real estate career, but I’m grateful and proud of the journey that has brought me to this point.”
Now as operations manager at Draper and Kramer, Hannah oversees the implementation of leasing technology to improve efficiency and drive overall operational excellence. She ensures that systems are set up correctly and are aligned with business objectives, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams and collaborating with other departments to streamline processes. She also monitors system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and development, and conducts training sessions for staff to ensure the effective use of technology.

Hannah’s creative and resourceful personality blends effortlessly with the traits needed to be an operations manager. “My job is always changing and I’m always learning,” she said. “Because my role is to help implement technology, it means being forward-thinking, looking for opportunities to improve and never being satisfied with the status quo. As Draper and Kramer continues to grow and evolve, I’m grateful that my dedication and work ethic have consistently earned me a place within the company.”

Outside of work, you may spot Hannah in Chicago with her husband, Dorian, and their dachshund, Jimmy. She and Dorian met on their very first day at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and have been inseparable ever since—25 years and counting! A lifelong Cubs fan, Hannah grew up in Chicago playing 16-inch softball, locally known as “clincher” style ball, which further fueled her deep love of the Cubs. From childhood to college and beyond, she’s always had a passion for the game. Whether she’s cheering from the stands at Wrigley Field or traveling the world for baseball, her dedication never wavers. “This March, I’m traveling to Tokyo to watch my beloved Cubs face off against the Yomiuri Giants at the iconic Tokyo Dome,” shared Hannah. “I couldn’t be more excited about it.”
