Do you love craft beers? If so, look no further than greater Dallas. The metro area is home to more than five dozen breweries! Fortunately, quality accompanies quantity, making the Dallas beer scene one of the state’s best.
Lone Star is Texas’ oldest active brewery. It began operations in San Antonio way back in 1883. There’s been a veritable explosion of activity in the North Texas beer scene since 2004. In that year, Rahr & Sons opened in Fort Worth. Forbes notes that there were about 20 breweries across the state in 2005. Today there are more than 300.
Collectively, Dallas breweries represent qualities often associated with American drive and success: entrepreneurial passion, endless innovation, unbridled ambition, and boundless creativity.
