131-unit Luxury Apartment Building proposed in Lincoln Park

Draper and Kramer has proposed a new construction, 131-unit transit-oriented development at 1649 N. Halsted in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The project will be located on the site of the former Royal George Theatre, which closed permanently in 2020.

Incorporating a unique, modern design intended to complement the famed Steppenwolf Theater across the street, 1649 N. Halsted will offer of mix of studio through three-bedroom units and a full suite of hospitality-style amenities, including a co-working space, fitness studio, resident lounge and a landscaped sky terrace. There will also be an enclosed parking garage for 34 vehicles.

1649 N. Halsted is located close to a number of neighborhood amenities, including several top restaurants, the popular Armitage Ave and North Ave retail districts, flagship Whole Foods Market, Formula Fitness Club and Lululemon locations and enjoys convenient access to the nearby CTA Red Line (North/Clybourn station). It is also near Oz Park, Lincoln Park and North Avenue beach.
