Enthusiastic, conscientious and organized – these are three words that capture Augustus “Guy” Coletti’s personality.
Since joining Draper and Kramer, Incorporated in June 2023 as Maintenance Supervisor at North 680 in Schaumburg, Ill., Guy has brought these qualities to every facet of his role. He oversees all things relating to facilities maintenance, from completing work orders and prepping vacant units to preventative maintenance and move-in readiness.
“Being a part of the DK team and working at North 680 has really changed my life,” Guys says. “I have met wonderful people, become a part of an amazing community, and learned and continue to learn invaluable skills that will help advance my career. I look forward to many more years of working for and growing with Draper and Kramer.”
Guy spent 20 years in retail management before transitioning to real estate. While working in New Jersey at a vinyl record pressing company, the head of maintenance recognized his natural talent for fixing things and took him on as an apprentice. Guy quickly discovered a passion for the work and eventually decided to pursue it full-time, relocating to Illinois to advance his career in maintenance. Since joining Draper and Kramer, he’s felt a strong camaraderie with his colleagues. “It is the first company I have worked for that feels like a team. Everyone cares about everyone else, and the environment is extremely employee-oriented, which is refreshing,” he notes.
His colleagues also feel that camaraderie in return. “Guy exemplifies the true spirit of a Head Maintenance Engineer at North 680,” said Colleen Needham, Assistant Vice President and Regional Property Manager for Draper and Kramer. “His unwavering attention to detail and commitment to resident satisfaction set the standard for excellence. Always going above and beyond, Guy puts the needs of our community first, ensuring every resident feels valued and cared for. His dedication doesn’t just maintain our building—he helps build a home.”
Property Manager Brett L. Steward added, “He is one of the most compassionate maintenance engineers I’ve ever met. His passion and pride in his work are evident in the way he handles every work order. His devotion to North 680 and our residents is clear in every interaction.”
When he’s off the clock, you might spot Guy on stage at an open mic night. “I love music and have been playing an instrument since I was in fourth grade. I can play the guitar, bass, and violin, as well as a smattering of other instruments, and I’ve been part of original and cover bands since I was 15,” he says. Guy is engaged to be married to his fiancé, Eleni, and has two “fur babies”- a dog Jax and cat Eos. Guy is also looking forward to beginning classes to obtain his residential HVAC certification.
