In celebration of Earth Month, our April employee spotlight highlights one of the many wonderful groundskeepers who work tirelessly to maintain the landscaping and more at our Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, communities: Enrique ‘Henry’ Gonzalez, who oversees the grounds and exterior amenities at Moda at The Hill in St. Louis. The luxury community features a resort-style pool and hot tub, outdoor gaming area, outdoor grilling and dining space, and a terrace with fire pit, so it’s no small job to keep everything well-maintained and looking great – but he does it impeccably.

Henry began his career as a painter before joining Draper and Kramer nearly 27 years ago. He’s served in a maintenance and groundskeeper capacity at numerous Draper and Kramer properties over the years and says, regardless of location, his favorite part of his job is interacting with residents and their pets. “We really do have the best residents, and everyone is always friendly and complimentary of my work,” he said.

He also noted that he appreciates the opportunity to work at different properties. “It keeps things exciting to have a new location from time to time,” he said.

When asked what three things would be describe him, Henry said, “dependable, friendly and willing to go the extra mile.” Ervina Barimac, property manager at Moda at The Hill, agrees.

“Henry’s contributions as our in-house painter and groundmen/porter have been nothing short of exceptional. He has tirelessly worked across all Draper and Kramer Saint Louis properties, ensuring that each one is maintained to the highest standards, both inside and out,” Ervina said. “One of the many reasons Henry stands out is his genuine care and for our residents, including our four-legged friends. He goes above and beyond to foster positive relationships with everyone he encounters, always ready with a friendly smile and a treat for our furry companions.”

When Henry isn’t onsite, maintaining his community, he enjoys music and plays the drums. He also appreciates antiques and is an art lover and collector. His eye for beauty is one of the many traits that makes Henry a wonderful asset to the Draper and Kramer team.
